Bike Expo

Any of you biking enthusiasts out there might want to check out the Seattle International Bike Expo this weekend. It’s held in one of the old Navy hangers out in Magnuson park. I went last year for the first time and had a blast. Every major bike shop in Seattle is there making shopping for a new bike ideal. They also have information for all sorts of organized rides–from local to international.

Looking to purchase a mountain bike for Anacortes trail use in the ~$400 range… Any suggestions?

At that price point, I’d probably recommend buying a used mt. bike. Bikes below a $500 price aren’t going to have great components. By buying used, you can get an $800 bike for $400. In Seattle, I’d try http://www.recycledcycles.com/. Also, Craig’s List might be an option too. Finally, once you get the bike, get a custom fitting. If you buy used from a private party, get a fitting at R&E Cycle for $50-$100 http://www.rodcycle.com/.
